MEET OUR SPEAKERS

Wesley Farewell

Wesley Farewell

Ratio Christi

My journey to ministry with Ratio Christi had its inception when I encountered Jehovah's Witnesses who knocked on my door. I felt totally inadequate representing my commitment to Jesus and His Gospel. This conversation lead me to dive deeper into God's Word in order to understand who God really is and how He has revealed Himself. I started learning that, not only is Christianity true, but it is defensible and stands up to the most vicious scrutiny. Moreover, I learned that navigating conversations with non-believers doesn't have to be frustrating or scary.
Ratio Christi is a ministry that equips Christians with philosophical, scientific, and historical reasons for following Jesus. The technical term is apologetics which means, ``give a reason`` or ``give a defense. We find the Greek form of this word in 1 Peter 3:15 which says, ``But in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense (apologia) to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect.`` (ESV) Ratio Christi establishes a beachhead on the college campus in order to help Christians intellectually defend their faith and counter the false claims coming from the world.

Jonathan Musgrave

Jonathan Musgrave

Child Evangelism Fellowship

Because Jonathan trusted Christ as a child, he realized the importance of children’s ministry. The Lord allowed him to become involved in CEF as “camp pastor” for Christian Youth In Action® (CYIATM) in 1999. Eventually, the Lord led him to accept the position of local director of the Lincoln Chapter at the end of 2003. By March of 2004, permission was granted to hold a Good News Club® (GNC®) in every public elementary school in Lincoln! August 13, 2005, he married his sweetheart, Yoli, and God has given them three precious children, Ariana, Ethan, and Isaac. In 2011, God allowed him to become the State Director for CEF in Nebraska.

The Musgrave’s enjoy serving the Lord together as a family reaching the children and families of Nebraska. They praise the Lord for what He is doing and for all the laborers He has raised up to work in His harvest! Please join with them through your prayers and financial partnership so that they might be even more effective in impacting the more than 250,000 elementary children in Nebraska for Jesus!

Jacob S. and family

Jacob S. and family

Ministry in Ukraine

Jacob came to know Christ in the Eastern Nebraska home church movement before moving to Odessa, Ukraine in 2014 as a ``tent maker`` missionary and eventually joining a church planting team. His wife is from Ukraine, where she served on an evangelism team in war-torn areas before completing missions training in Odessa and serving for eight months in Central Asia. It was partly the shared burden for the unreached peoples of Central Asia that brought Jacob and his wife together in 2020. After marrying, they were part of the leadership at the church plant in Odessa, while also working to mobilize Ukrainians to go abroad as missionaries. After spending 4 months in Ukraine during the war, they have temporarily returned to the States to prepare for next steps as members of a Bible translation organization.

Jonathan Johnson

Jonathan Johnson

Brazil Gospel Fellowship Mission

Jon and Denielle Johnson work as church planters with BGFM Global in south Brazil since 2008. Since the pandemic (2020) we have been working at the Igreja Biblica Cambirela in Palhoça, a suburb in the Florianopolis metro area. Together with our coworkers, our goals are to help solidify the church family as a unified body, reach lost people around us with the good news of Jesus Christ, and disciple and raise up leaders for the body of Christ.

Dwain & Lois Holmes

Dwain & Lois Holmes

Achuar Bible Translation

Dwain & Lois grew up in northwest Iowa, Dwain on a farm and Lois in a small town nearby. After high school graduation Dwain entered the Army, spending 18 months in Vietnam while Lois attended a commercial college and worked as a secretary for a large company. They were married September 26, 1970 and have 4 adult children and 12 grandchildren spread out around the United States.

Dwain trusted Christ as his Savior in 1972, Lois in 1966. After graduating from Grace College of the Bible in Omaha, they spent more than 35 years in Ecuador’s Amazon jungle among the Achuar/Shiwiar/Shuar tribes, progressing from basic evangelism to discipleship to leadership training. They currently continue ministering through Bible translation into the Achuar language from their home in Omaha, NE.

COME PREPARED TO HEAR WHAT GOD IS DOING!

“And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'” — Matthew 28:18
